£4 billion pounds being invested.

Trafford Council is set to approve a joint venture with Trafford Housing Trust, which could see the construction of 150 homes in Old Trafford.

If approved at a council meeting on Monday evening, the joint venture would deliver the homes as part of further development of new residential schemes in a council masterplan for Old Trafford.

The 150-home scheme, known as Tamworth Phase II, is the first project to be announced since THT was acquired by London-based housing association L&Q, last October, in a deal intended to facilitate £4bn of investment in creating 20,000 homes across the North West.

The site off Bold Street, which is already owned by THT and Trafford Council, would provide a choice of houses and apartments for a range of tenures, under the proposals for the JV.

The development is the second phase of the Tamworth scheme, which has already delivered 26 affordable houses and apartments on an adjacent site.

Talks regarding the formation of a project team are underway with announcements to be made in March 2020 while a planning application is expected to be submitted in the summer.
